I HAVE MOVED
Hello, everyone. Thank you very much for reading CinemaSlants these few years. I have moved my writing over to a new blog: The Screen Addict. You can find it here: http://thescreenaddict.com/.
I hope you follow me to my new location! You can find an explanation for the move on that site now or on the CinemaSlants Facebook page.

Best of 2009 (Random Thoughts)
By:
Matt Kraus
This is "Random Thoughts," a new thing which will release me from the tyranny I have created. This is not a feature, but just somewhere I will throw any and all pop culture-related things that pop into my head. Most of these will be short and relatively pointless, but maybe others will change your life. I have risen up against my own personal Mubarak.
When I first started this endeavor, I put up a short "Best of 2009" list that was thrown together on the spot, and without much thought put into it. (Like the site itself, amirite?) So I've decided to begin this "Random Thoughts" adventure of mine with a revised list of 2009's best films. Why? Because it crossed my mind, that's why.
So, with no elaboration, and a whole two years late, I give you my top ten films of 2009! Hooray!
1) Inglourious Basterds
2) The Hurt Locker
3) A Serious Man
4) In the Loop
5) Up in the Air
6) Precious
7) District 9
8) (500) Days of Summer
9) Up
10) Where the Wild Things Are
Feel free to comment or whatever. Just know that from now on I'll be less afraid of kicking off my Sunday shoes and cutting loose. (Not too excessively, of course. That would be rude.)

Oh, and if you REALLY care, my choices for the two worst films of 2009 are "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Taking Woodstock." It's a tie.
ReplyDeleteI love the "Footloose" reference at the end, so much that I barely paid any attention to the actual list.
ReplyDeleteThat's the spirit!
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased to see Where The Wild Things Are on the list. It's an overlooked and often misunderstood film.
ReplyDeleteEven after a lot of the critical praise, I was still wary going in. It really blew me away, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteDistrict 9 as seven? Lame. That movie was incredible.
ReplyDeleteWell, aren't we PICKY?!
